In the center of the Balkans
The previously nominal forms an autonomous territory with Serbia Kosovo declared its independence in February 2008. But fundamental structural weaknesses make the country still to poorest region of the former Yugoslavia.
The biggest problems are unemployment, insecurity of life and future, extreme poverty, corruption and crime, and the lack of health care.
Located in the center of the Balkan Peninsula are water, electricity and medicine scarce – the situation for sick and injured children is catastrophic. Since 2001 we are therefore active in Kosovo and provide emergency medical assistance.
